Carmona microphylla

(Fukien Tea). Woody stems are easy pruned and shaped, making this an excellent small tree or bonsai subject. Glossy, dark green, lobed leaves that stay small. Can produce small, white blooms and tiny fruits. Photo is of an older plant brown as bonsai (and after heavy flowering).

Very fruitful

I got a second one of these trees as a freebie. It’s only been a couple of weeks but already it’s developing two little berries. My first one has three berries all together. The berries are all very cute, hanging down from long stems like little ornaments. I love this tree and I’m happy I have two now.

Cute little berry!

I’m really happy with this tree so far. I have it in a cloche for humidity. It has beautiful dark green leaves and mine has even started growing a little berry already! I’m excited for this tree to mature and to get to taste its tea!
