The blooms are a super dark, rich color and do look like velvet. Super popular variety at our local African violet club's show and sale due to the striking blooms.

One of my favorites
Ive had this plant for 8 plus years, I keep making propagating new ones. Its one of my favorites, beautiful dark burgundy flowers always in Heavy bloom! I used to grow only violets, Streptocarpus in my opinion put violets to shame . Very easy plant to grow and enjoy!
