Bristol's Potpourri

Terrific plant, it never disappoints.  Deep shell-pink blooms with bright lemon-yellow throat.  Constant and heavy bloomer, compact grower, and heavily fragrant!

Beautiful plant

This beautiful plant is such a joy to grow, and the smell is so light and delicate.

Lovely Scent

A lovely color and scent. I wouldn't call mine heavily fragrant, but maybe mine will become that way when it matures. I do pick up the scent passing by it in the evening so that is really nice! The photo is true to color.

beautiful

Just love the color and easy to care for.

Another pretty Strep!

I got this in my last order and it had a couple of buds, of which the first one opened. I love the pink coloration and yellow throat on this one ... so pretty.

Love, love, love it!

I'll say it again, love it. I so admired streps for years, but due to limited space, I hesitated to purchase one. Well, Potpourri fills the bill for me. Grows nice and compact, but provides me with lovely blooms with a nice sweet fragrance. If you have limited space but want a strep, this is the one.

Beautiful plant

This is one of my favorite Streps. It hasn't grown too big for me (though I haven't had it too long) but it has made many delicate pink flowers. They are rather shiny and look like porcelain. I have noticed a very faint fragrance, and it may get a bit stronger with a bigger plant. The fragrance is sweet.

A bit of a let-down; no fragrance

The pretty bubblegum pink and yellow flowers are quite striking, although overall, the plant is a bit of a disappointment for me. I've had Bristol's Potpourri almost a year now, and compared to my other streps, it is a slow grower and sparse bloomer. The plant arrived with a single flower that had a very faint, sweet smell. No bloom since has had any scent whatsoever (which is disappointing, considering that the fragrance was the selling point). I also have a Holka strep, and side by side, Potpourri just looks like a boring, inferior version of it. If the blooms don't randomly develop some kind of fragrance soon, I will probably be gifting this plant. in my mind, Holka is simply the 'better' option. VB Note: You'll notice fragrance more when air is more humid and still. If in a large room (esp with air conditioning) and lots of air movement, you may not notice it.

Amazing plant

Very beautiful flowers. Several times I forgot to water it for a while and it always came back in great shape. My first Strep and now I am planning to order more.

Potpourri

Easy to grow and blooms often.

Great Scent !!!

This is one plant that lives up to it's claim of having a nice scent! It is a beautiful plant and well worth owning.

Amazing

Got this as a Freebie and couldn't be more thrilled. It has only 3 leaves but already had 4 huge very beautiful blooms. I am one that hopes it doesn't have much fragrance cause I have asthma and avoid fragrances but so far am ok with it. It is one that you should try cause the way it blooms is amazing. Try it...you will be glad you did.

Cute

I received this plant with three blooms on it. Darling little soft pink flowers and very healthy plant. Well packed.

Smells Beautiful

I got this one the other day and it came in bloom. The smell is heavenly. I absolutely love it. The fragrance reminds me of Strep. Kahori, a very fragrant species.

Great Plant!

I just got this plant a week ago and already it is growing. It was in perfect condition when it came because of how well it was packed. I love buying plants from the Violet Barn!

constant and heavy bloomer

Arrived blooming and hasn't stopped since, 9 months later. Very fast grower, great sturdy foliage. My flowers are not that heavily scented - it is a much lighter fragrance.

Blooms Constantly

I have had this plant for a few months and it is an almost constant bloomer. The flowers are a beautiful shade of pink and have a light, sweet fragrance. It is easy to grow and is vigorous.

Gerard May 19 2013, 16:28 PM

It just keeps on blooming,

I decided to give streps a try just to see if I liked them, and I found out I loved them! Potpourri has bloomed constantly since it started about a month ago. I've also found it is much more hardy than my violets when someone else has to take care of it (I went on vacation), my violets looked a bit sad but this plant was putting on a show! It had about 10 blooms on it at once and it is only a little plant! So far, the flowers on my plant have had very little to no fragrance, but I suppose that could be different growing conditions. A very easy and spectacular plant.

adorable streptocarpus

I just received my Bristol's Potpourri, in bloom and with new buds appearing. This fragrant strep is adorable, I hope you will add this to your collection, lots of blooms and very sturdy stems. It will make a great little gift, or a special treat just for yourself. I find the streps from the Violet Barn very easy to grow--and so will you.

Bristol's Potpourri

Received the plant approximately 6 weeks ago, and it was already in bud. So far, it has proven to be very floriferous under two T-5 bulbs suspended 18" above the plant in a 3.5" Oyama pot. It is also extrememly fragrant, and lives up to its name.
