Awesome Variety!
I’ve been growing this variety since about 2 years ago and find it to be one of the most easy-going ones. It flowers frequently, grows symetrically and also is easy to propagate. One thing though - some flowering seasons give me unexpected delight. Normally, the flowers are large, measuring about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, looking just like the pictures above. But on occasions would sport and I would have unusual blooms: like one or two flowers will be solid blue while the flowers on the same plant would look like normal ones. Or one would have solid blue on one half of the flower and the other half would have the normal colorations. One of its babies even got chimera-looking flowers ( the plant unfortunately sported its way to plant heaven after blooming twice) that had lighter pink stripes in the center of each regularly-colored petal. If you want huge brightly colored flowers that will offer you some occasional charming surprises, Live Wire is for you!

Just got this AV a few days ago, and again, Violet Barn has not let me down! This plant came in great condition, and had buds forming on it. If all goes well, I'll be seeing those beautiful flowers I couldn't resist

Prolific bloomer
This plant is a baby. Yet it has 12 blooms on it! The color ranges from solid purple to fantasy on one petal, to fantasy on two, and so on, on all petals. I had to buy 2 more of these. This is a keeper for sure.

Great packing & Shipping. Live Wire had one broken leaf which is fine since it came rather full. I already have the leaf started. No blooms yet, but looking forward.

Beautiful
I first saw this plant at a show and was told by and experienced grower, "This is a good one." He is right! I've heard it can sport, but mine is true to form. I love the large size of the blooms.
One of my all-time favorites!
I LOVE this plant! The flowers are amazing and absolutely eye catching. Whenever I have company and this plant is in bloom, I always get compliments. The plant I received was good-sized and already has doubled in size and has been blooming freely for me. This will always be in my collection.
Beautiful but was not sturdy for me
I got this plant as a small, barely established one - and it soon bloomed. The blooms were indeed very large and beautiful, with dark purple spots splattered on a pink shimmery background. Unfortunately, it did not grow very sturdy for me and in less than a year I lost it. The blooms were too large for the stems and the foliage was not abundant and strong. Maybe my conditions were not ideal - but it is worth trying for the gorgeous blooms!

I love this violet....it does not bloom often but definitely worth the wait! Mine does not have the same amount of dark purple this picture shows but it still has that splatter painted look!! Just Beautiful....love the Violet Barn!!
Beautiful colors
Since growing this vi it has become my favorite standard violet. The colors are beautiful with the pink being almost a neon or coral pink and the fantasy being vibrant blue. It blooms intensely and the flowers last quite a long time
lighting is key
Color is best if grown in bright, fluorescent light. In natural light it has a faded pink background, but with fluorescent light, the background is brilliant coral-pink.
superlative
I ordered this violet several months ago and have been growing it under lights. It began to bloom about ten days ago and is currently loaded with blooms. And the blooms are huge with intense blue fantasy against a deep pink/fuchsia background. The bloom is at least as pretty as its picture. And the fantasy has held up despite warm room temps during a sizzling Texas summer. The plant is robust and sturdy with dark green leaves. A truly superlative violet.
