Suicidal squirrel
I have gotten a lot of violets lately because I am starting over with my collection since my husband passed away in July. This Violet was one of five that I had Rob pick out and surprise me with. Of all the ones he picked out in those five, this one is dear to my heart since I raised a gray squirrel for 9 years and lost her last year. Every Violet I've gotten has had fantastic packaging and I have not had any problems. They seem to be growing at a fairly fast rate.
A Favorite
I really ordered this plant because of the name, but it became a favorite! I grew it for several years, and it wasn’t finicky at all. It blooms well once it’s established, and the leaf color is beautiful, a good complement to the flowers.
3rd time a charm?
This will be the third time I am trying this beauty. The heatwave killed off a few violets and I am trying to save the last one I have. I am anxious to get this one to survive, it has the potential to be lovely.
Love this plant!
I find the foliage on this plant intriguing...the blooms and foliage really compliment each other.
Rob's Suicidal Squirrel
I'm wanting to like this little plant and it grows very well in my window but the color of the leaves is nothing like the picture above and when it does flower; the blooms do not stay long. The plant is very healthy but the foliage color is not attractive at all.
