Heavy Bloomer
Rob's Boondoggle is a great bloomer and shapes well just love the blooms!
Stunning flowers!
I had been lucky enough to receive this plant in my order of five random violets. When I opened the container, it had a flower that just floored me, it was a flat magenta with a white lacey edge. However, the next flowers that started to bloom a week later, are white and there are a ton of them. Still beautiful but would love to see the deep pink once more.
Love the miniatures
I just received my second order from Violet Barn and I am in love with the miniatures. When I thought of African Violets it was the kind my grandmother grew, the standard ones. I didn’t realize that you could get miniature versions, nor that you could get trailing miniatures (my absolute favorites). They are so cute, so cute that I’m placing a third order just for more trailing miniatures. They are adorable!

A surprise fave
As a new AV enthusiast who previously only had a collection of garden center NOIDs, after much deliberation I chose a little Boondoggle as part of my first order of named varieties from Violet Barn. A few of the others were plants I've wanted for ages (and are doing wonderfully), but I was amazed at how quickly I fell in love with the ruffled leaves of this plant, which grow in such flat, near circles. When showing anyone my new violets, it's the one I point at. I feel like a show grower! And it only just started to throw up its first blooms - I'm this in love with it before the flowers have opened, and the flower color was why I chose it!
Heavy Bloomer
This is an adorable little heavy bloomer that has such a nice shape for show with little attention given. Love it!!
Spectactular!!!!!
This was a birthday gift that I'll enjoy for years. The color and form is amazing. Every morning I put it on my table and have an espresso while I contemplate the beauty of nature. Great way to start my day!

Wonderful plant!
I love this one! The frilly white and red flowers with dark green wavy foliage is a striking combination. So unique! The pictures don't do it justice, you have to see this one in person to appreciate how cool it is.
Easy to grow
One of my first attempts at leaf propagation and the babies have been such a joy. Petite, symmetrical plant. Love it!

Sassy little plant
Mine arrived without and buds, but within two weeks of being in my home it is beautiful! Each day when I get home, I can't wait to see which bud has opened. It has such sassy color and personality!!!
A Very Pretty Violet
I have had Boondoggle for over two years, and it has been a wonderful bloomer. The flowers sit up in a bouquet just like the first picture. In years past I have ordered violets from a variety of sources. Violet Barn has been the only one I can trust completely to send me pest and disease free plants.
In bloom an amazing
Came to me in bloom. It’s not one I would have picked myself because the picture they have up It’s dark. It was one that came in the 10 we choose for you and it is amazing. The leaves are a frilly dark green but that makes these blooms really pop! The white edges really make the flower stand out and the bright pink is a great contrast to the the small bit of yellow in the center of the flower.
Beautiful heavy bloomer!
I had this plant years ago. Now getting back into growing AV's I am trying to find my old favorites! this is one that grew beautifully and always was full of blooms! So happy to find it and order it again.

I had Rob;s Boondoggle a couple of years ago and it was a good bloomer with decent sized flowers. I arrived in bloom. The flowers fade in hot temperatures.

Rob's Boondoggle - one of my favorites
I love the deep dark color of the leaves on this variety. The flowers are quite variable depending on the time of year - Probably due to the different temperature I grow under during the winter vs. summer. The plant is free flowering and does very well in my greenhouse. I will never be without this one!

Disappointed
The packaging was impressive. Very disappointed, I give the exact same care as my beautiful standard violets. This one does have beautiful foliage but has yet to bloom. I have had this violet for over six months and am trying to be patient.

This is the plant that started it all...
My addiction to Rob's miniature African violets started with this plant many years ago. It grew and bloomed happily on my windowsill all through college. The bright, ruffled, gorgeous flowers always brightened my day. Terrific, strong plant with constant blooms. I love it!
easy to grow
I got this plant about 2 years ago and have succeeded in propagating it thru leaf cuttings. The new plants bloomed true to the parent and bloom frequently. I was so proud that I passed on the new plants to friends!
Prolific Propagator
Put a few Boondoggle leaves down last year and holy cow ended up with a ton of babies. If you enjoy starting plants from leaves, buy this guy and put down some leaves!

Beautiful
Nice dark wavy foliage arrived in immaculate condition. I cannot wait until it blooms. I was worried about winter shipping, but obviously these guys are pros. Almost 3000 miles and all 8 plants are perfect. Thanks for feeding my addiction to plants. I will shop here again.

Not blooming
I ordered this plant in the winter (probably not smart), along with another miniature and they are thriving but not blooming. I'm a novice so not sure why. The other AVs surrounding them are blooming well. I supplement the window light with full spectrum lamp. Regular half strength fertilizer. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My First Miniture
This plant arrived in bloom, and I was amazed at how much color was contained in such a small plant. The blooms and leaves are in perfect proportion to each other, and the dark green foliage really sets off the magenta and white blooms. This little boondoggle had a healthy and very well established root system, and exceeded all of my mail order plant expectations.

Beautiful, unusual plant
This plant grows well on a wick and always has heavy bloom cycles. I love the dark wavy foliage--it's different from anything else on my shelf. It does have a tendency to get powdery mildew in the winter, but this is easily taken care of. A great plant, well worth having.
Boondoggle
This is an easy bloomer! I had it a couple months and it already bloomed twice, so far. Every time I order from Rob my plants arrive in perfect condition! I don't order from anyone else anymore.
Blooms year after year
I love this little violet. I have it in my kitchen window and it blooms regularly and beautifully. It always cheers me up when I have to do dishes and it is blooming.

A real cutie.
I got this one about 3 years ago and it arrived in full bloom. You can't go wrong with this one, its very eye-catching and blooms frequently. I did repot it into an all Oyama self-watering pot as I do with all my violets and it really took off.
pretty little plant
I order this plant on my first purchase and I just love it. It arrived in great condition and even in bloom! the whole plant is pretty small and just super cute!
Great First Minature
I highly recommend this plant for someone who is just starting to grow miniature violets. After two months, my plant has ten beautiful blossoms. I kept it under lights in the wick container that is sold on this site. So easy to care for too. Right now the color is closer to a magenta than red.

Not to long ago I ordered several violets and my freebie was the Rob's Boondoggie.It is a very beautiful plant! It arrived bloming! Looks just like the picture! Love the deep pink and wide white band. It has already become a favorite. Get this plant, you will not be sorry!
Terrific little plant
Rob's Boondoggle is a fantastic little bloomer, my plant has so many blooms you can barely see the leaves. Easy grower and one everyone should try!
Prolific plant
Just love this plant. It has my favorite foliage which is dark and wavy. The bloom reminds me of the classic "Firebird" plant. The leaves are very prolific producing many babies.
Unbelievable
This little beauty arrived blooming, showing no stress from its three days in the mail. My browser shows the colors as purple and white, same as the plant we received. It is beyond beautiful.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
The only problem with this little violet is that once it started blooming, it wouldn't stop!! My plant consistantly has 10+ blooms, and currently has 18. It did take about 9 months to a year to get going, but once it did...! And I will add that I do nothing "special" for my plants other than talk to them :) I would also highly recommend Rob's Antique Rose.
Rob's Boondoggle
I just received this violet today and was amazed that it came already blooming....however the color of the flowers are nothing like they look in the picture on the site.....instead of being pink with a white rim as shown, they are purple with a white rim....still pretty but I really wanted the pink/coral color as shown in the online catalogue. By the way, the packaging of violets coming from the Violet Barn is wonderful and everything arrives safe and sound and rapidly.
