Love them. I bought several and shared them with people at work. I have noticed the redish ones seem to not be as hardy as all the others though beautiful. Looking for star of bethlehem episcia now.

I used to have several chocolate soldiers but lost them While the 3 varieties I ordered from Violet Barn did not survive before, I do not blame them in any way. I am ordering again and hoping for good results and highly recommend this site. I may also try some violets here this time.
My Search is Over
About 35 years ago I purchased an Episcia Chocolate Soldier at a local department store. It was an absolutely gorgeous plant that was easy to take care of and produced beautiful delicate blooms for many years. During one of my moves I lost the plant. I have been trying to find another Chocolate Soldier for the longest time with no success. Finally, during one of my numerous online searches, I have found the Violet Barn. I am so excited to be able to replace this beautiful plant and can't wait to receive my order.

I've had a chocolate soldier for 30 years. A garden club friend suggested I take one to our meeting. No one had ever seen an episcia! I've referred them to you for varieties and advice, and I'm ordering some new ones for myself! I especially love the episcia in January when most flowers are not blooming. I have a consistent cardinal party at my feeder just outside - 8 males at once!

This are all clearly labeled named varieties-which I was not sure of when I ordered. Every carefully packaged plant I opened made me think that it had to be the prettiest...until I opened the next one. The plants in the assortment were prettier than the ones I ordered individually. If you are uncertain, then this offer is a great way to start.

I ordered a 5 variety pack, as I wasn't sure about this plant. It was the first time I've ever ordered plants online. I never trusted online order (when it comes to plants), but they proved me wrong. First, I was very impressed by their packings. They used different packing materials for a safe trip. It travelled from East Coast to West Coast, and there was no damage on the plants at all. Not even a scratch. Yes they are doing business but I could feel that they really love what they are selling. Second, all plants were very healthy and they are growing very well. I re-potted them upon receipt, and all plants had clean and healthy roots. They are so pretty and I even built a new plant stand with glass doors (for extra humidity) for more collections. Third, reasonable prices on plants and no overcharge on packing/shipping. I was very happy about the purchase and will definitely buy more plants from them.
