Breathtaking
The leaves of Venetian Red look like rich red velvet. They are not waxy/shiny,but hypnotizing and iridescent. This is one of those plants that you spot across a room, and make your way over to see what it is, and how to get it! My plant is grown under lights, and has not suffered from brown crinkled leaf edges due to lower humidity.
Sophisticated color
I recently bought several begonias from Violet Barn, and this one is my favorite. It actually is the color called Venetian red, and it is just as lovely as described. The leaves look as though they have tiny glass beads on the surface, giving it a shimmery look. Venetian Red is a real beauty!

Venetian Red is an easy to grow colorful compact rex begonia. A must have older variety for any serious collector.
