B.B. B. Part 2: Reason for Friend's Outburst of Admiration

I forgot to mention that the reason for my friend's comment was the fact that the flowers measured 3 inches across, made more dramatic because its a single and almost like a flat disc. And this is just the first blooming cycle. I have to say though that the petal edges are more pointed than the rounded petal tips shown in the picture above. A really beautiful plant!

BIG BOLD and BEAUTIFUL

"This is an anomaly! These are the biggest African Violet flowers I've ever seen! " That was what my friend jokingly blurted out when he first saw the blooms on this plant. They were huge - about three inches across. I bought this from Violet Barn August of 2019 and have repotted it once in Nov. It has now grown to about 11 inches in diameter and is now blooming for the first time. The leaves are nicely symmetrical in growth with beautiful cream and pinkish variegation. The stems appear sturdy and able to hold up the large blossoms ( about 1 - 2 flowers per stem) above the foliage. The red color of the flowers is very vibrant. I highly recommend this Russian variety to anyone who loves very big red blossoms with variegated leaves

Beautiful

The foliage has to be seen, mine has stark white, pink, and cream variegation that’s well balanced and beautiful. I can’t wait until it blooms.

Not doing well

I ordered this plant with four other violets last august and here nearly a year later it still doesn't bloom . Had lovely foliage and was growing well at first but now have trouble with crusting edges so have to pinch them off. Guess I will order another red violet. Love the violet barn !

Incredible showy foliage

I bought this plant when I visited the shop in December. I was blown away by the size and coloration of the leaves. The blooms are beautiful and exactly as shown. I have this plant in a bold white ceramic, self watering pot and it looks amazing and seems very happy! My favorite. A very striking plant!

More on Magda

One additional note: The very first bloom I had reached a whopping 2 1/2" in diameter. I was impressed! Most of my violets' first blooms were on the small side.

Wonderful plant

This came as a freebie. It isn't one I would have ordered on my own (I like double or semi-double blooms.) It has turned out to be a favorite because the foliage is absolutely stunning! When in bloom it's even better, with the contrast between flower and foliage. The foliage isn't what I would call dark green, I'd call it deep medium green. The leaves are large and very nicely shaped, with striking variegation. I hope that there will be a photo added that shows the whole plant. I think that could make it a best seller.
